Effective from 1 July, a.s.r. real estate has acquired the Beijerinck Center and the Van Iterson House from dsm-firmenich on behalf of the ASR Dutch Science Park Fund. These multi-tenant buildings at the Biotech Campus Delft house biotechnology start-ups and scale-ups and offer shared facilities such as a restaurant, gym and meeting rooms. Planet B.io is building the ecosystem and community at Biotech Campus Delft on behalf of the ASR Dutch Science Park Fund, supporting the fund in developing the campus and acquiring new tenants.
Over a year ago, ASR Dutch Science Park Fund and dsm-firmenich agreed on a long-term collaboration to further develop the Biotech Campus Delft into a global leader in bioscience. As a first step, the fund invested in the acquisition of the new global headquarters and application laboratories of dsm-firmenich’s business unit Taste, Texture and Health. On 1 July, the Beijerinck Center and the Van Iterson House were added to the fund portfolio.
Biotech Campus Delft takes on green and sustainable features
The ASR Dutch Science Park Fund and dsm-firmenich have developed a plan on how the campus is going to be designed. The aim is to achieve 100,000 m² of lettable floor space by 2040. The campus will be landscaped with lots of greenery and attention to biodiversity and water collection. Cyclists and pedestrians will be given priority over cars. This will make the campus a pleasant, attractive green place to visit and encourage people meeting and collaborating with one another in various ways. Moreover, the sustainable design matches the campus’s focus on sustainable biotechnology.
Planet B.io creates a unique and inspiring ecosystem
The non-profit organisation Planet B.io is creating a unique and inspiring ecosystem at the Biotech Campus Delft, where biotechnology companies will be eager to locate. Through cooperation and access to the necessary knowledge and infrastructure, these companies can develop and grow faster. Besides local activities, Planet B.io also offers a large network of public and private organisations supporting the biotech sector. Planet B.io is the exclusive partner of ASR Dutch Science Park Fund to further expand the ecosystem on campus in the coming years with attractive large and small biotech companies from the Netherlands and other countries.
