ASR Dutch Science Park Fund expands portfolio with acquisition at Leiden Bio Science Park

On 18 December 2024 a.s.r. real estate signed, on behalf of the ASR Dutch Science Park Fund, the purchase agreement with LCN Capital Partners for the acquisition of the European headquarters of Avery Dennison. With this acquisition, the science park fund of a.s.r. real estate is now also active at the leading Leiden Bio Science Park. The fund already has buildings at the TU Delft Campus South, Biotech Campus Delft, and Kennispark Twente in its portfolio. The ASR Dutch Science Park Fund has an exclusive partnership agreement with these three science parks to further develop the science parks.

The Avery Dennison European HQ is a distinctive and sustainable office/laboratory building, located at Leiden Bio Science Park near the A44 in Oegstgeest. Avery Dennison has been leasing the building since its completion in 2014. The company is a global player in the field of material sciences, labeling, and digital identification technologies, which are applied in healthcare and other sectors.

The building was designed by Paul de Ruiter Architects and developed by OVG (EDGE Technologies). With an energy label AA++ and BREEAM Very Good, it was designed with a focus on sustainability and wellbeing and has a modern appearance with a spectacular atrium at the heart of the building. The property comprises approximately 12,154 m² spread over six floors. The ground floor has a spacious and welcoming entrance and reception area. The second floor provides access to the restaurant, kitchen, and informal meeting places. On the 3rd, 4th, and 5th floors, there are office and laboratory spaces. There is a parking garage with space for 219 cars and 13 charging stations, as well as a bicycle storage area.
