Insurance company De Goudse is increasing its investment in the ASR Dutch Science Park Fund to € 70 million as of 1 October. The fund invests in office and laboratory buildings located in science parks across the Netherlands. Earlier this month, pension fund KPN also announced it would augment its commitment to the fund with an additional investment of €30 million.
The ASR Dutch Science Park Fund currently has four investors and a total invested capital of €264 million. De Goudse joined the fund as a participant in October 2021. Geert Bouwmeester, Chairman of the Board of De Goudse, stated: ‘As a family business, we are deeply rooted in society and have a true long-term focus. De Goudse firmly believes that investments in science parks contribute sustainably to Dutch society, and to the knowledge economy in particular. That is why we are proud to be a participant in the ASR Dutch Science Park Fund and are happy to expand our investment.’
Martin Kraaij, fund director of the ASR Dutch Science Park Fund, added: ‘We are extremely proud and grateful for the trust De Goudse places in us, which is reflected in this additional investment in our fund. It gives us more room to invest in suitable spaces for start-ups, scale-ups, and established companies focused on key innovations. As we recently did with the addition of 10,000 m² in NEXT Delft and the acquisition of the office and laboratory building at the Biotech Campus Delft, which provides space for scale-ups in the biotech sector.’
ASR Dutch Science Park Fund
The development of science parks around leading universities, companies, and knowledge institutions is vital to the Dutch knowledge economy. The ASR Dutch Science Park Fund actively contributes to this by investing in sustainable real estate that meets the housing needs of various companies and institutions located in science parks. In doing so, the fund facilitates technological development and innovation.
