ASR Dutch Science Park Fund acquires third building from dsm-firmenich at Biotech Campus Delft

The ASR Dutch Science Park Fund has once again acquired an existing office and laboratory building at the Biotech Campus Delft as part of its partnership agreement with dsm-firmenich. With this acquisition, the fund expands its portfolio on the campus and increases the availability of housing for scale-ups in (food) biotechnology. Together with ecosystem partner Planet B.io, the fund is actively engaging with several companies that have expressed an interest in leasing space in the building.

ASR Dutch Science Park Fund is taking over the office and laboratory building from dsm-firmenich, which relocated in May to its new Food Innovation Center, also situated on the Biotech Campus Delft. In the coming months, the acquired building will be renovated and transformed into a multi-tenant building. Planet B.io and the ASR Dutch Science Park Fund have started leasing activities and are in talks with several companies interested in moving into the building.

A hub for scale-ups in (food-related) biotechnology

The building is particularly suitable for scale-ups due to its flexible office layouts, food-grade labs and ML I laboratories. It includes a tasting room, bakery, cheese-making facility, and kitchens. Thanks to the on-site facilities, companies can test and immediately demonstrate their innovations. The acquired building is an office and laboratory building of approximately 4,100 m², comprising 2,127 m² of office space, 1,787 m² of laboratory space, and 180 m² of storage space. More information about the building and leasing opportunities can be found on the Planet B.io website.

Biotech Campus Delft: an open innovation campus

This acquisition is part of the long-term strategic and exclusive partnership between ASR Dutch Science Park Fund and dsm-firmenich to further develop Biotech Campus Delft into an open innovation campus. The campus offers a unique combination of office and laboratory buildings, scale-up facilities, campus amenities, and an ecosystem of companies in the same sector (industrial and food biotechnology). In July 2024, the fund acquired the multi-tenant buildings Beijerinck Center and Van Iterson House from dsm-firmenich, which primarily house startups in industrial biotechnology.

Biotech Campus Delft

Biotech Campus Delft is the leading open innovation campus in Europe in the field of food and biotechnology. The entire innovation cycle is supported—from research to pilot to production. The campus hosts a variety of companies: startups, scale-ups, established businesses, and knowledge institutions, all contributing in their own way to the transition.
