ASR Dutch Mobility Office Fund nominated for GRESB-BREEAM Award 2022

ASR Dutch Mobility Office Fund’s commitment to sustainability has been rewarded with a nomination for the GRESB-BREEAM Award 2022 in the category Responsible Investment Small Portfolio. The fund, which invests in sustainable office space close to the Netherlands’ major intercity stations, earned BREEAM certificates and five stars in the GRESB benchmark for its entire portfolio last year.

GRESB-BREEAM Award 2022

The BREEAM Awards go to projects which the jury believes offer the best balance between high performance, reproducibility and innovation. When reaching their decision, the experts also consider the extent to which the project exceeds what would normally be expected of a comparable project in terms of sustainability. The winners will be announced on 22 March at the BREEAM Summit 2022.

Office at Daalsesingel 51 in Utrecht

The ASR Dutch Mobility Office Fund continuously invests in the sustainability of its offices. The office building at Daalsesingel 51 in Utrecht is a shining example. This office of some 8,300 square metres was recently renovated and equipped with an outer wall that offers added insulation. In addition to being fitted with LED lighting, special windows and solar panels, the building was topped off with a moss-sedum roof. This stops rainwater from running off into the sewers while preventing heat stress. Masonry buildings absorb high levels of heat, which they then release very slowly, so the greener the building, the cooler it will be.

The above modifications not only enhanced the quality of the building as a desirable location to work and interact socially, but also raised its BREEAM certification from Very Good to Excellent.

Far from resting on its laurels, the fund aims to bring its entire portfolio up to BREEAM Excellent level.

Five-star rating in GRESB benchmark

Through its commitment to BREEAM certification, reducing energy and water consumption, and gaining a comprehensive insight into user data, the ASR Dutch Mobility Office Fund increased its GRESB total by an impressive eight points last year, achieving a score of 92 out of 100. The resulting five-star rating puts the fund among the top 20% best-performing GRESB funds worldwide.
